Why are politicians so afraid of video games? They rant and rave about how violent a video game is and want to pass laws to pretty much ban it all together all because they feel they are too violent. However, when an ultra-violent movie like Saw or Hostel comes out we hear nothing from them. Yeah, there violent games and movies, however, a video game features pixelated characters whereas a movie features real people in a very realistic setting. I am not advocating selling mature games to kids. I am just sick of this double standard. Plus, no one ever brings up the fact that the military has video game like training equipment which really is intended to teach people how to kill in a realistic manner. Is there an xbox 360 Lion King Game? I absolutely LOVE the Lion King. I had a Sega video game for the Lion King and I loved it but my Sega broke when when my dad took it to Afganistan of something like that. Have you ever picked up a bargain online? I purchased a top PC game from a seller on Play.Com for the amazingly low sum of £1.69 when it retails in the shops for around £30.00. As you can imagine I thought it was some sort of scam but seeing as it was so cheap went ahead with the purchase and I was genuinly surprised when 2 days later it popped through the post, just HOW can someone make a profit selling video games at £1.69 with free delivery?? Wii Sports outsells Super Mario Bros.!? The only reason it sold was because it comes with the Wii, you don't have a choice to get it or not. But that is really depressing, because as we all know, Super Mario Bros was and STILL IS the greatest video game of ALL TIME. Im not sure how you can disagree with that. It was a gaming revolution. I want to buy some sort of video game console...? I'm 20 and I'm a girl. The last thing I've played was Mario Karts on a Nintendo 64 so please understand, I know NOTHING I want to have some sort of game console. I really enjoyed the N64, and it doesn't really work anymore so I'd like to buy something. Edit my English work please!? Well, my task was to take something from a magazine and put it into a newspaper article, so heres what I came up with. It's supposed to be the top 5 games at E3. Please read it over and give me any comments or suggestions on it. This year the E3 conference took place during July 15-17 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. E3 stands for Electronic Entertainment Exposition. It is an annual video game tradeshow for computer and video games. Many new upcoming games are announced here for the main gaming platforms. Since 2007 it has not been open to the general public, so we have the top 10 games of E3 to share with you today, and you can visit the official E3 website for more coverage. 5. Guitar Hero: World Tour took 5th place at E3. It will be released for the PC as well as the 3 current generation gaming consoles. This new game follows Rock Band with a full band experience. The creators added many new features compared to the previous game which was already a very good game. With this game, you can create your own songs and even share them with others online. The Guitar design has become even better along with a new drum kit. A nice new feature of this game is it’s online band battles. Although Rock Band 2 is similar, Guitar Hero: World Tour outperformed it with many more features. 4. The fourth place game at E3 is Resident Evil 5. This game will be released for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 only. It’s the fifth game in capcom’s survival horror series. This game features online co-op mode for those looking to play story mode with friends along with many improvements to the graphics system and game play. This game will be an amazing improvement for all of the Resident Evil fans 3. Fallout 3 took 3rd place at E3. It will be released for the PC, Playstation 3, and the Xbox 360. This game has been completely changed from the first two in the series making it a much better role playing game. The game engine for Fallout 3 has been greatly improved making the game play and graphics much better than the previous games. 2. The 2nd best game at E3 is Gears of Wars 2. It will be an Xbox 360 exclusive game, but it could be released for the PC later on after it comes out for the 360. This is the sequel to the best selling game for the Xbox 360 and it continues where the first game left off. Gears of War 2 has a whole new weapon set, new enemies, new vehicles, and many new game options. This is a highly anticipated game for the Xbox 360, just like the previous game. 1. The best game at E3 is Left 4 dead. It will be released for the Xbox 360 and PC only. It is a zombie survival horror with the best co-op features in any first-person shooter game. Should I Keep My Job? I know that's kind of a difficult question to ask a group of people who don't know me, but I need some perspective. Here's a bit of background so you can kind of understand the situation: - I'm 18 years old. - I have been working in the company since I just turned 16 and took up a full-time position once I left school (seven months or so ago). - I work in a retail store that purely sells Video Games. I love games, and that's really the only reason i'm still hanging on to the job. - I'm the assistant manager of the store and work a full 40 hour week. - I get along well with my staff. - I don't get along so well with my manager. I'm pretty unhappy. I dread going in to work everyday. Sometimes it's okay when I get there and other times it's incredibly depressing and horrible. I do try my best, but I don't think anyone seems to realize or appreciate that. I get zero recognition for pretty much everything I do. Is this kind of thing normal in a job? I dunno, it's the only one i've ever had. I don't really like a lot of the stuff I have to go to on top of work either. I don't have my drivers license so when I have to go quite a distance for a work-related conference in a couple of days, it's going to be a massive effort to get there. I guess maybe I don't want the responsibility? But there's no going backwards in the company really. If I told them I didn't want to be manager, they'd tell me to quit then cause they have plenty of people wanting that kind of job. I've seen it happen to others before. Now, the reason i'm concerned about quitting is because of lack of motivation. It's a simple case of that I don't need the money at all. I live at home with my parents and i'm from a fairly well-off family. The only thing I "need" the money for is for buying stuff I like to do: books, video games etc. I have a lot of it saved up over the past few years and enough to keep we going a while even if unemployed. But i'm afraid that if I quit my job, things will get even worse. I don't know where else I could get a job, I have no qualifications (except graduating high school) and I have no interest in studying anything at Uni. I think i'll probably just sit at home all day everyday and just play video games, which wouldn't do me any good. Can anyone help advise me, please?

A customer tried to steal my coupon at work today.? I deal with lots of customers and spend most of the day fixing mistakes from other departments. Which I do not understand really because the other cashiers should be able to do everything I do. Anyway, I printed out a 2K $10.00 off video game coupon. I left it behind the counter on top of my book. I work in a retail store and that coupon does not apply to the store as we do not sell video games. A customer asked for the coupon, I assumed that she thought it was for the store. I told her it's for video games that can be used at bestbuy or gamestop. She said she knows that and told me she wanted it. I said No because I printed it out and the only reason it was visible was because I drop my notebook and didn't have time to put the loose papers back together. But she still demand for it and when I still refused she said the store has terrible customer service and tells everyone the store won't give out coupons to them. Keep in mind she understood when I told her it WASN'T for this store. So this customer tried to steal my coupon. WHY do I get these idiotic customers? Just because I work here doesn't mean they can steal my coupons that's not for this store. Oh, I still have it, I didn't get a chance to go to Gamestop or Bestbuy to redeem it. I need to buy a graphics card. Which one do I need ? I have a 2002 cicero pentium 4 with upgraded RAM cards. I recently ( 3 hours ago ) received this PCgamer magazine that included some nifty donwloadable demos for games like Call Of Duty 4, Crysis, Unreal Tournament.But I can't play any of these demos because, as they say, my graphics card isn't good enough. I have two options. 1. Take out my RAM cards out of my PC, sell my PC, buy a new one and install my RAM cards in that one. 2. Buy and install a graphics card. Ever since Stephenie Meyer's best-selling series of supernatural romance novels spawned a nation of Twilighters, millions of girls (and their moms) have followed the first book's journey to the screen. Casting the schoolgirl was every bit as perilous as casting the vampire. Fortunately, director Catherine Hardwicke was roundly cheered when she zeroed in on Stewart to play Bella, a shy, ordinary 17-year-old every-mortal. The actress' agents, of course, were doing backflips when they heard the news. Stewart herself wasn't so sure how she felt about being at the center of a cultural tsunami. She's still not. ''It's just surreal to be a crucial part of a machine like this,'' says Stewart, over a lunch of raw oysters and po'boys. ''I'm sort of the vessel. The book is what it is because of these girls' obsession with [Edward] through me. If I wasn't right, I'd be persecuted, and put on a cross.'' Not exactly the breathless enthusiasm you might expect from a young actress in the kind of big, splashy blockbuster that could launch her onto young Hollywood's A list. Stewart is Kate Winslet on the eve of Titanic's release or, at the very least, Shia LaBeouf pre-Transformers. But then again, she isn't much seduced by hype. ''I don't want to do something that's just a big moneymaker,'' says the actress, who has worked steadily for nearly a decade but hasn't appeared in a genuine hit since her breakthrough role, at age 11, as Jodie Foster's daughter in Panic Room. Instead, she's built up indie credibility by working with an impressive array of top-tier directors like Mike Figgis (Cold Creek Manor), Jon Favreau (Zathura), and Doug Liman (Jumper), among others. How do you measure greatness? When I read top 100_____ or top 10 ______ there are always the ringers that are in every list but why? What makes the Beatles one of the greatest bands ever? Was it because they sold millions of records or because they were innovative? There are lots of musicians that sell a lot of records but we don’t say they’re the greatest or even anywhere near it, B. Spears, J. Timberlake. And there are acts that are very innovative but didn’t sell much, Velvet Underground. Is it a mixture of both, but even that is too vague. What makes “Nevermind” better than “Bleach”? Same artist. Not just music, but film, TV, Video Games. Do some things just fall in the role? And if the people before you told you something was the greatest, odds are you will tell people after you the same thing was the greatest. Eventually no one knows why it’s the greatest, it just is.
My boyfriend has been ..........? my boyfriend has been accusing me of stealing his things, and selling them. My boyfriend, has been missing some of his video games, and he says i have been selling them, and his Ds games..etc.. he wanted me to get his phone tonight, so i did..he came in yelling about his sd card not being in it..and telling me to give him his sim card..to give it to him now!.. so i had to go throgh my purse.. and find a tiny card(it had falling out) and, he got pissed because he thinks i stole it, why would i steal it?? i have them toooooooooo he thinks i steal, his money... his other phone.. i did not!!! he thinks i steal everything of his.. And, i have never stolen? i don't get it, it hurts my feelings when he tells me he wants it.and doesn't belive me.. and when he gives me money..he wants to tell me i can't spend it on nothing.. whats the point on giveing the person you"love" money, if she can't buy anything..if even a drink??? id on't get..it?? and on top of this..he wants a kid???
when will New game consoles stop being created? I just had a thought. I notice that every few years a new video game console comes out. For instance there was the playstation and the playstation 2 and currently the playstation 3. Clearly in the beginning of the video game industry game creators had allot to improve on, seeing as the early games didn't look too great. But it seems now a-days with all these next generation consoles out with very fast CPU processors and real to life HD graphics, what would be the point of trying to make a better console and try and reinvent the wheel? There's only a certain number of colors the human eye can perceive and the maximum resolution for displays has already been reached, this is what we know as IMAX theaters. Theres already VERY VERY fast processors in the world that can render and play games at a very fast speed with minimum loading times. My question to anyone who knows the answer is this. When will new game consoles stop being created? For instance. When will people like sony and microsoft reach the top possible, most realistic graphics and the fastest possible processors so that they just make one system and sell that out and make games for it. There really is no need to go much further because if this has not happened already, eventually Graphics and processors will plateau. This is because our human brains can only move so fast and process so much information. Our eyes can only see so much graphical improvement before it all looks the same. Just something to ponder. which video card is better? i'm getting a laptop and since i will be spending about 6 hours a day at home and 4 hours doing nothing i want it to play games like call of duty4 and some other new games. please dont tell me i need a desktop to play games because that is simply not an option, otherwise i wouldnt be selling my xbox 360. any suggestions on decent gaming laptops in the 1200ish dollar range on top of which of these graphics cards would be best in a laptop would be much appreciated. btw i only need like 2 hours of battery life for my classes and will have plenty of time to recharge between them so thats not really a concern. are you tired of overt marketing in movies? i went to see "iron man" recently and i absolutely loved the movie, but i got tired of feeling that burger king, audi, and verizon were trying to mess with my psyche. i spent $9 to get into the movie (and that was with my student discount!) but then i got into the movie and advertisers are still trying to sell things. and then to top it off, with the summer blockbuster season among us, it can be guaranteed that fast food companies and all other major entertainment outlets will be doing promotional tie-ins with the movies. am i the only one tired of movies not just being movies anymore? why do we need action figures, video games, t-shirts, soft drinks and numerous other tie-ins? why can't a good movie just be a good movie anymore? why do movie companies run great movies into the ground with over merchandising and commercialism?
